Education Commission to acknowledge services of senior professors
Islamabad: Higher Education Commission (HEC) has launched an ‘HEC Distinguished National Professors’ programme to use the services of outstanding senior professors and scientists in universities and research and development organisations and utilise their services in national organisations.
Project Manager (Human resource Development), Distinguished National Professor Programme, Afsheen Akhtar told this agency that the selected HEC national professors would be engaged in teaching and research in public sector institutions.
The programme has been launched to acknowledge the services rendered by outstanding senior professors and scientists in universities and research and development organisations and to utilise their services in national organizations, she said.
The HEC distinguished national professor will be entitled to fix emoluments salary of Rs150,000 per month (Rs100,000 as personal expense and Rs50,000/ as research grant). The project manager informed that the appointment shall be made for a period of two years on contract renewable depending on yearly satisfactory performance.
According to the eligibility criteria, those who apply for this programme must be PhD in any discipline, have research and teaching experience preferably with a significant number of PhDs produced and membership of professional societies.
The candidate must have national or international publications and exhibitions, awarded national or international awards or honours and won national or international research grants. The interested candidates can send their application through the prescribed application form and data sheet available at http://www.hec.gov.pk/InsideHEC/Divsiions/HRD/FacultyHiringPrograms/HECDNP. along with CV to HEC till December 26.
