KARACHI: Dadabhoy Institute of Higher Education (DIHE) conferred 828 degrees to its graduates in the disciplines of Management Media and Social Sciences, and Engineering and Computer Sciences.
A total of 539 degrees were awarded by the faculty of Management Media and Social Sciences, while 289 degrees were awarded by the faculty of Engineering and Computer Sciences at DIHE’s 10th convocation.
Sindh Minister for Transport Syed Nasir Hussain Shah and Senator Abdul Haseeb Khan were the chief guests at the occasion. Nasir Hussain Shah congratulated the students and said, “Our government is making every effort to transform the process of education at all levels. Much has been achieved in the last few years, but much is yet to be achieved.”
Senator Abdul Haseeb Khan emphasised the importance of higher education and the significance of research and development for the progress of the country. DIHE Board of Governors Chairman Abdullah Dadabhoy praised the efforts of the students and faculty.
He thanked the chief guests and said, “Setting up of the institute was the first step of Dadabhoy Foundation in its journey towards establishing a world class university which is being done on 250 acres of land in the Hawkesbay area within the ambit of the proposed new city in Hawkesbay.”
DIHE now has five campuses in Karachi and one in Sukkur and approximately 70 to 75 percent of our students have availed different types of financial assistance. “Our motto remains constant: Quality education at affordable cost. DIHE has also received 94.7 percent marks in its quality enhancement efforts after a recent evaluation by the QA committee,” he added.
