Weather to remain cold, partly cloudy

LAHORE: Weather remained cold with scattered rain and partly cloudy conditions in the provincial metropolis on Tuesday while the Met office predicted similar weather conditions.

Met officials said a westerly wave is affecting upper parts of the country and may persist till Wednesday. They predicted more rain-thunderstorm with snowfall over the hills (with hailstorm) at scattered places in upper KP (Malakand, Hazara, Peshawar, Kohat Division), upper Fata, upper Punjab (Rawalpindi, Lahore, Gujranwala, Sargodha divisions), Islamabad, Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan. Whereas cold weather in Sindh and Balochistan. Foggy conditions are likely over plain areas of Punjab and upper Sindh during morning hours.

Rainfall was recorded in the following cities: Kashmir: Rawalakot 49, Muzaffarabad 43, Kotli 39, Garidupatta 36, Punjab: Murree 46, Islamabad (Z.P 41, Saidpur 36, Golra 17), Rawalpindi (Chaklala 30, Shamsabad 31), Sialkot (cant 29, A/P 19), Lahore (Punjab 18, A/P 16, PBO 14), Mngla, Jhelum 16, Gujrat 13, Gujranwala 12, Joharabad 11, M.B din 10, Kasur 08, Jhang 07, Noorpurthal, Shorkot 06, Faisalabad, Okara, Multan 05, Sargodha (PAF 05, city 03),Sahiwal, Kot Addu 03, T.T Singh, Bhakkar, Layyah 02, R.Y khan 01, KP: Cherat 33, Lower Dir 31, Dir 26, Risalpur 25, Balakot 23, Kakul 21, Pattan, Saidu Sharif 18, Malamjabba 16, Drosh 15, Mirkhani 14, Peshawar (A/P, City 12), Chitral 11, Kalam, Kohat 06, Bannu 01, FATA: Parachinar 08,Gilgit-Baltistan: Skardu 07, Chillas, Astore 03, Gupis, Bunji 01. Tuesday's lowest minimum temperature was recorded at Kalat where mercury dropped down to -09 °C while in Lahore maximum temperature was 16°C, minimum was 9.5°C and humidity level was 74 per cent.
