Youth urged to take lead in national development

Islamabad: Pakistan can progress only if its youth take the lead in all walks of life, said Prime Minister’s Youth Programme chairperson Leila Khan on Thursday.
“The government is fully committed to equipping youth with all the possible resources and opportunities in the fields of education, skill training, entrepreneurship and employment in order to enable them to contribute positively in the socio-economic development of Pakistan,” she said chairing a feedback session with the members of Pakistani youth delegation, who, under the umbrella of the Prime Minister’s Youth Programme, participated in the 19th World Festival of Youth and Students 2017 in Sochi, Russia from October 14 to 22.
The 2017 Festival, hosted by the Russian Federation, marked the 70th anniversary of the event which was first held in Prague in 1947. Around 30,000 energetic and engaged young people from 180 countries across the globe attended the Festival for developing intercultural cooperation and strengthening international ties.
