Hashmi in contact, expected to join PML-N
KARACHI: Former prime minister Nawaz Sharif has become active for a meeting with his old associate Javed Hashimi, which is expected to be held tomorrow (Monday).
Hashmi, a veteran politician, remained associated with the PML-N for a long period but later joined the PTI.
However, he hasn’t joined any party after parting ways with the PTI.
According to sources, Hashmi is again getting closer to the PML-N and Nawaz through his close friends is trying to arrange a meeting with the senior politician who wants to contest next general elections from NA-149.
Some reports suggest they will meet tomorrow (Monday). It is said that Nawaz was in contact with Hashmi for the last few days.
When contacted, Hashmi said some friends wanted to arrange his meeting with the former prime minister, but he had not been given any formal information yet.
I too have heard [about this] from some people,” said Hashmi, who is currently in Islamabad for the launching of his book.
