Aizaz to perform even after retirement

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan’s Ambassador to the United States, Aizaz Ahmad Chaudhry, will be attaining superannuation on 27th February next year, and he will continue in the slot for the period of three years in accordance with the government’s undertaking given on the occasion of his posting in December last year.
Diplomatic sources told The News here the other day that Aizaz Ahmad Chaudhry, who was country’s foreign secretary before assuming the assignment in Washington has played an important role in choreographing new trends in the foreign policy and succeeded in developing valuable contacts with the administration in the US capital.
Aizaz Ahmad Chaudhry has dispatched concrete proposals to arrest the trend of decay in the ties of the two countries on account of harsh statements made by US President Donald Trump about Pakistan recently.
Chaudhry has performed in excellent manner in the US capital as he strengthened his contacts with US officials, thinktanks, State Department, administration and people in the Capitol Hill who enjoy clout in affairs of the government.
Ambassador Chaudhry will submit a detailed report on the working of the embassy next month since it would also culminate his first year in Washington in March next year. A report pertaining to the visit of the US Secretary of State to Pakistan has helped the government in formulating new line in country’s relationship with the United States.
Another important report has been received by the government on account of US Defence Secretary's visit to Pakistan this week, the sources said.
