Lahore Blues edge Peshawar by three runs

ISLAMABAD: Ali Shafiq (3-21) held his nerve and took two wickets in the last over to help Lahore Region Blues beat Peshawar Region by three runs in a National T20 Cup thriller at the Pindi Stadium Saturday.
Ali picked up Waqas Maqsood (8) and Imran Khan Sr (0) on successive deliveries to bowl out Peshawar out for 170.
Naved Yasin (62 not out) played a gem of an innings but was left stranded at the non-striker’s end. He smashed four boundaries and three sixes in his unbeaten 44-ball knock.
Riffatullah Mohmand (40) and Israrullah (26) also played well for Peshawar.
Earlier, Ahmed Shehzad (50) helped Lahore Blues score 173-6.
Left-arm seamer Waqas Maqsood (3-23) and spinner Kashif Bhatti (2-30) bowled well for Peshawar.
