Lahore: The Karachi Circular Railway (KCR) is a historical and important project. It could have been constructed 30 year earlier, said Railway Minister Khawaja Saad Rafique Federal.
He said this during a meeting with a delegation of Sindh government, led by Sindh Mass Transit Authority (SMTA) director general, at Railways Headquarters here on Saturday. The delegation comprised Muhammad Azhzar, SMTA DG, Asharf Ali Lakho, chief consultant and Yousif Muni, director projects.
The minister said, "We will cooperate with KCR. Removal of encroachment on the route of KCR is a job of Sindh government." Upgradation of ML-One is necessary for Karachi, he said. But it was not included in the feasibility report of KCR. "We are ready to cooperate but not an official of secretary level or minster was there to attend the meeting," he expressed.
