Islamabad: There is a likelihood of the moon for the next Islamic month being sighted today (Sunday). And if that happens, Rabiul Awwal will begin on November 20 with Eid Miladdun Nabi, the birth anniversary of Holy Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) on Rabiul Awwal 12, falling on December 1 (Friday). “The new moon of Rabiul Awwal 1439 AH will be born on the crossing conjunction point at 16-42 PST on November 18. According to astronomical parameters, there is a Chance of sighting the new moon for Rabiul Awwal on the evening of November 19 i.e. on Safar 29, 1439 AH," said Abdul Rashid, director at the Climate Data Processing Centre of the Pakistan Meteorological Department. The weatherman said according to the climate records, the weather was expected to be fair or partly cloudy in most parts of the country on in the day. The country's main moon-sighting body, Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee, is assisted by the PMD, Pakistan Space and Upper Atmosphere Research Commission, and Pakistan Navy.
