ISLAMABAD/KARACHI: Frontier Corps (FC) Balochistan Friday killed one of top eight Balochistan Liberation Front (BLF) commanders involved in Turbat incident during exchange of fire with terrorists. On presence of the terrorists, the FC Balochistan conducted an important intelligence-based operation near Alandur, Abdul Rehman village, Turbat, an Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) statement said.
As soon as the troops cordoned suspected area, terrorists opened fire and during exchange of fire terrorist Younas Taukali, identified as one of top eight BLF commanders, was killed 20 kilometres west of Bulada, 25 kilometres north of incident site from where 15 bodies were recovered.
Terrorist Younas was involved in martyring 15 innocent people belonging to Punjab on November 15. He was also involved in laying improvised explosive devices, ambushing FC convoys and killing many civilians including killings of Rehmatullah Shohaz (founding member of BNM; later surrendered), Akram Hayathuk and Habibullah, son of Taher, and execution of Ghulam Jan (Lala Nazir’s cousin) and Saddam .
Meanwhile, authorities arrested a suspected facilitator of the deadly Sehwan suicide blast from Karachi.
In February this year, more than 80 people were martyred and over 300 injured in a terrorist attack on the Sufi shrine in Sindh.
During a press conference on Friday, Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) DIG Aamir Farooqi said the suspect was held in a coordinated raid with Sindh Rangers. Giving details, Farooqi said Nadir Jakhrani alias Murshid was arrested in Manghopir area of the metropolis. He informed that the planning of the Sehwan attack took place at Dera Murad Jamali. He added that all the people of the group involved in the attack have been identified by the police officials and are either dead or on the run.
The officer said that Daesh’s Sindh chief has been killed by the law enforcement agencies as well. He said that there are clear-cut indications of "foreign hands" behind terror incidents in the country, including the Sehwan blast. Farooqi said that the suicide bomber in the attack came from Afghanistan.
