The Federal Investigation Agency has unearthed a human trafficking racket wherein people were being sent to Australia on commercial ships with the help of fake documents.
Speaking to reporters on Monday, FIA deputy director Ashfaq Alam said Mairaj Alam Siddiqui was arrested for sending people to Australia for jobs after taking Rs500,000 from each of them.
He was found in possession of many forged documents. He took between Rs50,000 and Rs350,000 in advance for this purpose.
Separately, the FIA and police arrested Nadeem Anwar Khan alias Nidoo. He, in connivance with his associates Haji Muhammad Amin and Rasheed Anwar Khan, was providing fake Iranian visas, allowing people to travel to Turkey and Greece via Iran.
He was found in possession of 50 Pakistani passports. He also had blank passport booklets, forged Iranian visa stickers and counterfeit currency.
