Call to highlight real message of Islam

LAHORE: Religious scholars should come forward to educate people with real message of Islam and Islamic values all over the world.

The entire Muslim Ummah has been confronting challenges because of misleading propaganda being made public against Islam, said Pakistan Ulema Council chairman Hafiz Muhammad Tahir Mehmood Ashrafi.Addressing "Stability of Pakistan" seminar here on Monday, Hafiz Tahir Ashrafi said Islam has nothing to do with menace of extremism and terrorism. He urged upon Muslim scholars to play their effective role in stability of Pakistan as religious communities of subcontinent had played crucial role in making of Pakistan. It is the responsibility of religious scholars to spread moderate message of Islam all over the world, he said.

He said the government should categorically identify, if any seminary had been accomplice in any form of extremism and fundamentalism.  On this occasion, Maulana Qazi Matiullah Saeedi, Maulana Usman Baig Farooqi, Sahibzada Usman Jaami and others also announced joining Pakistan Ulema Council.
