Q1: I am an undergraduate Electrical Engineer at UET, Lahore. After 3 years, my CGPA is 3.3. Which subjects should I select from Power, Telecommunication, Electronics or Computer for final year? (Habib ullah, Lahore)A: It is good to see that you are maintaining a good CGPA. If you work hard and get over and above 3.5 CGPA, there are great chances for you getting a scholarship anywhere in the world.

As far as your choice is concerned, there are a number of emerging areas in the power sector and once you have done your bachelor's degree, there are various streams within power which include, Electrical Power Systems & High Voltage Engineering, Transmission & Distribution Engineering, Future Power Networks and Sustainable Energy, etc. All these areas will have great openings in the power sector in years to come.

Q2: I have completed B.Com in 2015 and my marks are 756. Now I want to do a Master's. Please tell me what should I do MCS or MBA? (Abid Malik)

A: I see that you have done your B.Com and I guess it is a two-year degree? If this is the case, I would suggest that you do your Master's in Financial Management, Banking or Commerce, especially if you do not have practical experience. I would not recommend doing an MBA at this stage unless you have worked for a few years.

Q3: I have completed B.A in 2014 with the following subjects: Political Science, Persian and Islamiyat. Now I want to go abroad (Germany, Switzerland or England) on study visa. How to cover my study gap and what is the best option for me to study abroad. Please guide me. (Muhammed Naveed, Sheikhupura)

A: The gap years are important and most countries would like to know more details on what you have been doing before issuing you the visa. The two years B.A in Political Science is not a sufficient qualification and I would suggest you to do a Master's in either Political Science or International Relations following which you can look for doing a postgraduate degree in Germany, which is far easier to get in and an addition to this there is no tuition fees in Germany. However, you may be required to do an IELTS of 6.5 scores for most universities.

Q4: I have completed Intermediate with Computer and Economics. I find myself more intelligent in the computer field and my interest is in computer and business. Please guide me to select the right course for my graduation from BSc, BBA or BS-IT. Please guide me what is best for my career? (Ali Jan, Hasilpur)

A: Keeping in view your interest and your Intermediate subject areas, I will suggest that you do your bachelor's in Business and IT which is normally known as B.A Business and IT. This will give you a good combination of business and IT following which you can look at doing a Master's in Business Information Systems that has wide opportunities both in Pakistan and abroad.
