Two kidnap victims were rescued and their abductors detained from Sohrab Goth on Wednesday.
A Rangers spokesman said the paramilitary force worked in collaboration with the police to trace the whereabouts of Ahmed and Qasim, who were kidnapped from Sakhi Hassan and North Karachi respectively.
Rangers and AVCC officials raided the abductors’ hideout in Sohrab Goth and rescued the victims.
They also detained two kidnappers after a gunfight. The accused wanted Rs2 million from each victim.
Bike lifters held
Three motorbike lifters were detained from the National Highway after a gunfight, said ACLC chief SSP Irfan Ali Bahadur.
The suspects were identified as Ramzan, Nazeer Ahmed and Juman Khokhar. Police seized their weapons and impounded four lifted vehicles.
SSP Bahadur said the suspects removed the engine and chassis numbers from motorcycles and replaced them with fake numbers to sell the vehicles in rural Sindh. He said the suspects belonged to an intra-provincial gang of vehicle snatchers.
