All arrangements have been finalised to shift oil tankers to the Zulfikarabad terminal, according to Karachi Mayor Waseem Akhtar.
The shifting of the oil tankers terminal was a long-awaited demand of the people and the apex court had also ordered Pakistan State Oil (PSO) officials to shift the terminal, the mayor said while taking to PSO officials in a meeting held at his office on Monday.
Akhtar said the oil tankers terminal had been causing traffic chaos while many precious had been lost due to accidents that occurred at the terminal, he added.
Vulnerable buildings
The mayor has asked the Sindh Building Control Authority (SBCA) to adhere to the rules made for dangerous buildings during the rainy season. In a statement issued on Monday, he asked the SBCA to follow the relevant rules during the construction of buildings.
