DHA Karachi Administrator Brigadier Shahid Hassan Ali visited the Dar-ul-Sukun, an institute serving as a home to physically and mentally challenged children and adults, on Friday.
A DHA official said the Dar-ul-Sukun management had invited the DHA administrator for an Iftar at the institute.
Sister Gertude Lemmeus, the in-charge at Dar-ul-Sukun, gave the administrator a tour of the facilities at the centre including the physiotheraphy room and electrotherapy room.
The administrator commended the philanthropic role and missionary zeal of the centre’s management and hailed their contributions to the noble cause of helping humanity in distress.
He said the DHA was committed to facilitating all such noble causes and presented a cheque of Rs1 million to the Dar-ul-Sukun management. On the occasion, the children of the centre presented a talent show comprising tableaus, skits and songs showcasing their enthusiasm and determination to live a happy life in the face of major challenges.
