A tale of misery

Honour killing in Pakistan is quite common. What is more unfortunate is the fact that this crime is usually carried out with the agreement of elders of a family. A woman can be killed for marrying someone of her choice because apparently her act brings shame to the family. The prevailing injustice cannot be curbed even after several attempts by the government.
The print and electronic media frequently publish the news stories related to the incidents of honour killing. The government should act in a more serious manner. A right step by the government will save the lives of innocent women.
