‘Naatia Mushaira’ held to celebrate Ramazan

A magnificent Na’atia Mushaira at ‘Turabi’s Baithak’ was organised by Dr. Nisar Turabi and his team in connection with the holy month of Ramadan. It started with recitation from the Holy Quran magically done by Ali Bin Aziz.

After introductory remarks about Dr. Ehsan Akbar presiding over the function and guest poets Dr. Muhammad Amin and Anjum Javed, Dr. Nisar Turabi handed over conduct of the Mushaira to Mehboob Zafar, a gentleman with commendable expertise and poise. He performed this role in an entirely professional and graceful manner.

It was a great Ramazan afternoon of course with all great poets present to show their love for the Holy Prophet Hazrat Muhammad (peace be upon him) at Na’atia Mushaira. As the poets came in turn amidst hot weather, they were given standing ovation.

The participating poets recited their ‘Na’atia Kalam’. Everyone’s heart gripped with emotions. The recited Na’ats were rousing, delicate, touching and motivating.

The audience relished the beauty of Na’atia poetry. They listened to the Na’atia compositions of the illustrious poets with international fame like Dr. Muhammad Amin, Dr. Ehsan Akbar, Anjum Javed, Naseem-e-Sahar, Mehboob Zafar, and Farhat Abbas -- all seasoned celebrities in the realm of poetry whose participation is considered to be the touchstone for the success of such literary congregations.

Dr. Ehsan Akbar throwing light on the significance of modern Na’atia literature said that this kind of Na’at was first written by Allama Muhammad Iqbal and the rest followed his style. He said our era needs to strictly adhere to the path of the Holy Prophet Hazrat Muhammad (peace be upon him) if it wants peace.

In the end, Dr. Nisar Turabi arranged a relishing ‘iftar’ dinner. Thanks were extended to all the poets especially to Dr. Ehsan Akbar, Dr. Muhammad Amin and Anjum Javed for gracing the occasion. Everyone left this event with pleasant memory.
