Teachers training institute for special education inaugurated at PAF Base

Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif inaugurated Teachers Training Institute for Special Education at PAF Base, Sarwar Road, Lahore, on Saturday.

Chief of the Air Staff Air Chief Marshal Sohail Aman, Provincial Ministers Dr Ayesha Ghaus Pasha and Chaudhry Muhammad Shafique along with high-ranking officers of PAF were also present on the occasion. 

The chief minister visited the newly-constructed teachers training institute established with the collaboration of Punjab government and Pakistan Air Force. He met the teachers and inquired about the facilities provided in the institute. 

Addressing the inaugural ceremony, Shahbaz Sharif said that best institution for teacher training had been set up. He congratulated Air Chief Marshal Sohail Aman, officers of PAF, the provincial minister for special education and his team on the establishment of this wonderful institute.

He said this splendid model should be adopted in other provinces as well. He said the establishment of this state-of-the-art institute for imparting training to special education teachers was best facility. He said PAF utilised the funds in a best way.

The chief minister proposed that joint collaboration should be adopted to deal with the challenge of teachers training on modern lines. He said that refresher courses should also be held for teachers with regard to special education. He said that the speed at which the project was completed had strengthened the impact of 'Punjab Speed' in China; and ‘Air Force Speed’ had also been included with ‘Punjab Speed.’ No other work could be more virtuous than the education and training of special children.

Shahbaz Sharif met special children at the stage and appreciated them for singing the national anthem in a beautiful way. Air Chief Marshal Sohail Aman presented a souvenir to the chief minister. Base Commander Air Commodore Salman Mehboob said that the institute was scheduled to be completed in 18 months, but it was constructed in 13 months.
