MARDAN: PPP Senator Khanzada Khan on Monday criticised the PTI-led provincial government for failing to honour the promises it made with the people of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. Talking to The News, he said the provincial government claimed to have changed the ‘thana culture’ in the province, but in fact the ‘old police culture’ was still intact. Khanzada Khan pointed out that the provincial government claimed to have computerised the land record, but people were protesting against it and demanding the government to restore the old system. He maintained that the PTI-led government failed to bring about change in the health and education sectors. The PPP leader opined that the issue of the Panama Papers leaks had become a thing of the past and Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif has survived due to the mistakes of PTI Chairman Imran Khan. He said Imran Khan was staging protests against corruption in other provinces, but in KP his party’s government had been unable to address this issue. Answering a question about the Dawn Leaks, he felt it was a sensitive issue and the federal government should have handled it in a better way. “Those who undermined key national institutions should be identified and punished,” he stressed.
