Mayor Karachi Wasim Akhtar on Wednesday paid a visit to Edhi Foundation’s office in Kharadar along with Senior Director Municipal Services and other officers.
On this occasion, Faisal Edhi presented the mayor with a memorial coin of Abdus Sattar Edhi – founder of the Edhi Foundation – and also pledged 10 ambulances to the city’s fire brigade. He said the current number of fire fighting vehicles was not enough and the fire brigade department should be given more attention.
He said the people’s problems were directly linked with the municipal bodies and that is why the municipal system should be strengthened.
He also appealed to the Sindh government to cooperate with the local bodies in Karachi.
Acknowledging Faisal Edhi’s services, Akhtar said he was serving the humanity just like his great father. He said he felt proud visiting the Edhi Foundation’s office.
