Businessman gunned down in Faisal Town

LAHORE

The owner of Mian Plaza situated in Johar Town was killed while two others received bullet injuries by unidentified bikers in the Faisal Town police limits on Tuesday.

The deceased person has been identified as Mian Mehmood while the injured were Azhar Shafiq and Malik Yaseen.

Police said they were on their way for some work in their vehicle. As they reached near Shoq Chowk, unidentified motorcyclists reportedly intercepted them and opened fire on them. 

As a result, the victims received bullet injuries while suspects fled the scene. Mian Mehmood died on the spot while other victims were admitted in hospital where their condition was stated to be stable.

Mehmood had received four bullet injuries while other victims received injuries on their legs. A police team reached the spot on information and removed the body to morgue.

Mian Mehmood was owner of Mian Plaza situated in Johar Town. While one of the victims was his partner and other was his driver. Family of the victim refused to comment on the issue.

A senior police officer said the circumstantial evidences suggested that the victim had been killed on financial dispute.

And, one of the victims might be involved in the incident. However, further investigations would help ascertain the facts.

SHO Faisal Town said they were investigating the matter keeping in view different aspects. It will be premature to comment on the motive behind the killing. 

ACCIDENTS: At least 705 road traffic accidents were reported in Provincial Monitoring Cell of the Punjab Emergency Service (Rescue 1122) in all 36 districts of Punjab during the last 24 hours; in which four lives were lost and 626 serious injured were shifted to different hospitals of relevant districts & tehsils. However, some 220 victims, who sustained minor injuries, were discharged on the spot after provision of first aid by Emergency Medical Teams.
