Tributes paid to ZA Bhutto on 38th death anniversary

PESHAWAR: Speakers here on Tuesday paid glowing tributes to the Pakistan People's Party (PPP) founding chairman Zulfikar Ali Bhutto on his 38th death anniversary and vowed to render any sacrifice to accomplish the mission of their iconic leader.

Two separate functions were organised to highlight the sacrifices of Zulfikar Ali Bhutto, who was a former prime minister of Pakistan and hanged during the martial law regime of General Ziaul Haq on April 4, 1979.

The PPP leaders and activists in their speeches shed light on the sacrifices of Zulfikar Ali Bhutto and said he never compromised on principles. The main function was held at the People's Secretariat at Duranpur while the second one was organised by the PPP Peshawar chapter.

Former provincial minister Liaqat Shabab, Malik Saeed, Misbahuddin, Malik Tehmas Khan and others spoke on the occasion.

The speakers said that undemocratic and anti-people forces had never accepted the decision of the people, but they couldn't succeed in their mission. They vowed to follow the principles of Zulfikar Ali Bhutto. The PPP leaders criticised the federal and provincial governments for compounding miseries of people.

They maintained the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) and Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) had disappointed the people and they would vote for the PPP in the next general election.

Meanwhile, the People's Doctors Forum also held a function at the Peshawar Press Club to mark the death anniversary of Zulfikar Ali Bhutto. Among the speakers was Syed Ayub Shah.

NOWSHERA: Speakers at a function organised to mark the 38th death anniversary of former prime minister and founding-chairman of the PPP Zulfikar Ali Bhutto vowed to accomplish the mission of the late party leaders.

The local leaders of the PPP had organised the event to remember and pay homage to late PPP leader Zulfikar Bhutto. They said the PPP has always rendered sacrifices for the oppressed and the country. The speakers added that Zulfikar Ali Bhutto sacrificed his life but did not bow to a dictator.

TIMERGARA: The party workers from all parts of the district gathered at the residence of former provincial minister and PPP Lower Dir President Nawabzada Mehmood Zeb Khan here at Timergara.

PPP leader senator Ahmad Hassan Khan, PPP district president Mehmood Zeb Khan, information secretary Alamzeb advocate, district Timergara Bar Association President Jehan Bahadar, PPP divisional spokesman Malik Rahmatullah and others spoke on the occasion.

KHAR: The PPP activists commemorated the death anniversary in Bajaur Agency. Scores of party activists and leaders gathered at the residence of the PPP leader and former member National Assembly Syed Akhunzada Chattan to mark the death anniversary of their late leader.

PPP leaders, including Aurangzeb Inqilabi, Khan Bahadur, Mian Gul Lala, Shahabuddin Shahab, Ibrahim and tribal elders were present on the occasion.

Speaking on the occasion, Aurangzeb Inqilabi said that leaders like ZA Bhutto were born once in centuries.

"The steps being taken by the PPP's founding chairman for the progress and prosperity of the tribal areas would always be remembered," he said, adding that ZA Bhutto kept the country on the track of economic prosperity.

PARACHINAR: The PPP' leaders paid rich tributes to ZA Bhutto' services for the country at his 38 death anniversary in Kurram Agency.

PPP leaders, including Jamil Turi, Niaz Muhammad, Haji Zaman, Syed Sajjad, Ibrar Hussain and others were present on the occasion.

Speaking on the occasion, they said that ZA Bhutto had taken unprecedented steps for the progress and prosperity of the Federally Administered Tribal Areas.

GHALLANAI: The PPP's founding-chairman ZA Bhutto's death anniversary was marked in Mohmand Press Club.

PPP leaders, including Farooq Afzal, Fazal Hadi, Arshad Khan, Imtiaz Khan, Malik Adil, Zareef Khan, Naseem Khan and others attended the anniversary.

They said that ZA Bhutto was a great leader of the country as well as of the Islamic world. He was a real diplomat and knew well the art of the international diplomacy, they added.
