The governor earlier in the day visited Port Qasim, where the chairman of the port’s authority Agha Jan Akhtar briefed him about the import and export operations, the capacity of the port and commercial handling.
Zubair said that completion of the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor project would increase activities at the Gwadar, Karachi, and Bin Qasim ports.
He added that Port Qasim was playing an important role in the economic development of the country and it had become more important than it was in the past. “The government will address the issues of Port Qasim on a preferential basis.”
