Slain cop’s family given compensation money
Sindh Inspector General A D Khowaja handed over a Rs5 million cheque to the widow of Constable Shahbaz Saaid in a ceremony held on Wednesday.
The policeman was killed in line of duty on July 2016. Sindh Police Additional Inspector General Abdus Salam Shaikh was also present on the occasion.
A spokesman for the Karachi Police said Shahbaz Saaid, belt number 715, son of Saaid Bhatti, was deputed as a member of the Anti-Street Crimes Squad at a site located opposite the Hasan Square Apartment in District East, Karachi.
He was gunned down by two unidentified motorcyclists.
He had joined the Sindh police in November 1992 and that a case (7ATA - 302/34), under the charge of 287/16, was registered against his unknown killers with the Aziz Bhatti police station on July 5, 2016.
