ISLAMABAD: The Milli Yekjehti Council (MYC) has strongly condemned continuous printing of blasphemous sketches, saying that no one would be allowed to play with religious sentiments of Muslims in the name of freedom of expression.“Such blasphemous acts being contrary to moral and religious values also amount to violation of Charter of the United Nations,” the MYC leaders Sahibzada Abul Khair Zubair, Liaquat Baloch, Allama Sajid Naqvi and Saqib Akbar said in a joint statement on Thursday.
Announcing to observe protest day on today (Friday), the MYC leaders asked Ulema and Khateebs to highlight the issue in their Jumaa sermons and throw light on the life and teachings of the Holy Prophet (Peace Be Upon Him).
They also called upon the Organisation of the Islamic Cooperation (OIC) to convene an emergency meeting on the vital issue and present a strong view in front of rest of the world. “The western world should be conveyed that it should refrain from adopting the path of clash with the Muslim world,” they said.Jamaatud Dawa and Al Mohammadia Students have also strongly reacted to printing of blasphemous sketches terming the action as a conspiracy to play with peace of the world.
