People from all walks of life, including civil society, writers, journalists, and academicians, have hailed and appreciated the selection of Dr Abida Tahirani as Sindh University vice chancellor by the search committee.
In a statement issued on Wednesday, Prof Qalander Shah, Ghulam Nabi Mughal, Gul Mohammad Umrani, Dastagir Bhatti, Jami Chandio, Dr Ghulam Mohammad Lakho, Nasir Panhwar, Prof Azad Qazi, Aijaz Sindhi, ProfNoor Ahmed Janjhi, Noor Bajeer, Nazeer Esani, Shabnam Baloch, Zahida Detho, Mehran Mallah, Dr Qasim Soomro, Mustafa Mirani, Farzana Buriro, Zahid Dharejo and others have expressed the hope that Dr Tahirani will try her best to improve quality of education and bring back lost glory of Sindh University.
They said that she deserved full support of civil society for the cause of higher education and hoped she will meet the expectations of people of Sindh, urging on the employees of the university to use their energies for betterment of the institution.
