KTH acting director appointed
PESHAWAR: The Board of Governors (BoG) of Khyber Teaching Hospital (KTH) on Thursday appointed Dr Farman Ali as acting hospital director.
He replaced Brig (r) Dr Fazle Akbar who was appointed the first regular hospital director of KTH after Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf’s much-publicised ?Medical and Teaching Institutions Reforms Act 2015 was passed from the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assembly in January 2015.
However, Brig (r) Fazle Akbar resigned from his position in September and cited personal reasons for quitting his job.He became the second hospital director to have resigned from his position. Before him, Dr Anees Akhtar had resigned from his position as hospital director of the Hayatabad Medical Complex (HMC) and also stated personal reasons for quitting the job.
