Political gurus betrayed ideology of Pakistan: Siraj
KARACHI: The two-day workers convention, being held by the Jamaat-e-Islami (JI), Sindh, kicked off in Karachi here on Saturday.
Tens of thousands of JI workers from across the province assembled at the Bang-e-Jinnah where the convention commenced in noon.
Addressing the convention, Jamaat-e-Islami's chief Sirajul Haq said that Pakistan was established as per the design of Madina. "Unfortunately, the political gurus in Pakistan had betrayed the ideology of Pakistan."
He held back-to-back political and dictatorial regimes for the miseries of Pakistan. The JI leader said that Sindh possesses centuries-old culture. However, those ruling Sindh had not only failed the province but also brought a bad name to the beautiful culture. They only followed their greed and extraordinary corrupt practices while dealing with official affairs, he added.
The JI chief also shed light on regional and international affairs. He warned Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi not to dare create any hindrance in flow of waters towards Pakistan.
Earlier, former JI chief Syed Munawar Hassan conducted an international session entitled "Islamic world and progress of Islamic movements". During the session, prominent figures of several Islamic movements from across the world shared their experiences.
JI Karachi chief Engr. Hafiz Naeem-ur-Rehman has been presiding over the convention. The JI leaders are optimistic that the convention would become a turning point in the politics of Sindh.
