COAS spent historical period, says Khursheed
ISLAMABAD: Opposition Leader in National Assembly Syed Khursheed Shah has said the Chief of the Army Staff (COAS) General Raheel Sharif has spent a historical period and the post of COAS should be given to the senior-most officer of Pakistan Army and a senior officer should be appointed Chairman Joints Chiefs of Staff Committee (CJCSC).
The opposition leader in a statement and during an interview said that COAS Raheel Sharif had faced several challenges and was leaving the post honourably. He would be considered one of the non-controversial army heads, Shah added.
Lauding the services of the COAS, Khursheed Shah said, “I always appreciated Raheel Sharif’s way of command and I wish general should continue his services for nation through any means.”
Talking about appointment of new COAS, he said that appointment of senior most general is the best parameter that should be followed to boost up the morale of army. The continuity of the general Raheel’s policies is essential and it is the only way to root out terrorism and enemies, he added.
