The Pakistan Maritime Security Agency (PMSA) seized 2,400 kilograms of narcotics in a raid conducted at sea.
As per a statement, the PMSA and Pakistan Customs had credible information that a large quantity of narcotics was to be smuggled into the country via sea.
Based on the information, ships and fast response boats were deployed in the Western Martime Region and, on Wednesday night, teams chased down a suspicious vessel near the Western International Boundary Line.
A search of the boat led to the recovery of 2,400 kg of narcotics from hidden compartments. The entire haul was said to be worth Rs1,500 million in the international market.
The smugglers’ vessel had a crew of nine people, all of whom were taken into custody and handed over to the Pakistan Customs for further legal action.
