ISLAMABAD: The Supreme Court Friday directed the additional attorney general to submit reply in a case regarding ignoring promotions of five senior officers.The bench remarked that senior officers’ future could not be let at the mercy of Selection Board and termed it against the basic fundamental rights. The court directed to examine the cases of ignored officers and including their names for promotion in the next meeting of Selection Board.
A three-member bench headed by Chief Justice Anwar Zaheer Jamali and comprising Justice Khilji Arif Hussain and Justice Ijazul Ahsan heard the case. During the course of proceedings, Additional Attorney General Afnan Karim Kundi appeared before the court and informed that there were some technical issues to re-include these officers’ names but these issues could be resolved by minor changes. Later, hearing of the case was adjourned till date in office.
