PPP rally: traffic police announce alternate routes

Sindh Deputy Inspector General of Police (DIG) Asif Aijaz Shaikh of the Traffic Police Karachi on Saturday announced a traffic plan for the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) rally to be taken out today.

According to a statement, the PPP will take out rally from the Bilawal House to Karsaz. Party Leaders, MNAs, MPAs, and large a number of party workers are said to participate from different areas.

 

Route of rally

The rally will start from the Bilawal House and it will pass through Boat Basin, Mai Kolcahi Road, Jinnah Bridge, ICI Chowk, Aga Khan Jamat Khana, Kakri Ground, Lea Market, Naipier Road, Denso Hall, M A Jinnah Road, Numaish, Sharea Quaideen, Sharea Faisal and Karsaz.

The traffic police has announced and arranged alternate routes for the convenience of public and commuters.

 

Routes for hospital

To proceed towards the Ziauddin Hospital, citizens can use the Sea View Road and China Chowrangi. For the South City Hospital, commuters can use the Bahria Underpass. For the Jinnah Hospital, residents of Clifton and Defence may use the Chaudhry Khaliquz Zaman Road, Lilly Bridge, Cantt, School Road and residents of Landhi and Korangi may use the Korangi Road, CSD, left turn Jinnah Hospital, while residents of Garden and Saddar may use Saddar to proceed towards the Jinnah Hospital.

For the Civil Hospital, roads from Bohra Peer, Chand Bibi Road can be used, while for the Liaquat National and the Aga Khan Hospitals, citizens can use the University Road, New Town and Stadium Road. Residents of District East may use Drig Road, Rashid Minhas Road and Stadium Road to proceed further.

 

Routes for airport

Residents of Clifton, Defence will use Korangi Road, Hino Chowrangi, Korangi Industrial Area Road, Shah Faisal Colony Bridge for reaching airport. Similarly, road users from Sharea Faisal to the airport will use the FTC Flyover to Korangi Road, towards the airport.

Residents of Gulshan area approaching Clifton and Defence will use Shaheed-e-Millat and Hino Chowrangi Road.

Traffic coming from the airport to Saddar will use Drig Road, Rashid Minhas Road, Stadium Road, University Road, PPP Chowrangi to Corridor-III. Traffic coming from the airport to Clifton and Defence will use the Shah Faisal Colony Bridge, Korangi Industrial Road, Korangi Road.

Residents of Nazimabad and Liaquatabad will use NIPA, Drig Road to proceed towards the airport, while the rout of Stadium Road, Millennium Mall and Drig Road can also be taken for the airport.

 

Railway stations

To proceed towards the Cantt Station, citizens may use Shaheed-e-Millat Road, Expressway, Hino Chowrangi, Korangi Road, Sunset Boulevard Road, Punjab Chowrangi, Sub Marine Chowrangi, right turn to the Khaliquz Zaman Road to Cantt Station.
