PESHAWAR: Chief Minister Pervez Khattak has granted tehsil status to Darband area of Mansehra district.With this, the district would have five tehsils as Bafa was recently upgraded to the tehsil level.
The chief minister announced a college for the area to be included in the next Annual Development Plan. He announced a primary school and civil dispensary as well.
Pervez Khattak made the announcement while addressing a 40 members representative jirga of elected nazims of the Mansehra district at the Chief Minister’s House on Thursday, said an official hand out.
Senior Minister Sikandar Khan Sherpao, Regional President of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf Zargul, Member Provincial Assembly Ibrar Hussain Tanoli and district nazim were also present on the occasion.
The chief minister said the facilities would be ensured in the newly announced tehsil. He also approved five kilometer long Chappar Road in the area.Meanwhile, the chief minister has directed the authorities concerned to expedite work on the rehabilitation of infrastructure in Shangla affected by recent flood.
He said Rs220 million for rehabilitation of roads and Rs200 million for other identified projects had been released.The chief minister was presiding over a meeting to discuss relief funds of Shangla district here at the Chief Minister’s Secretariat.
