Low-paid govt employees want problems solved

MINGORA: Class-IV employees on Sunday demanded the government to take note of the issues being faced by them.

The demand was made at a meeting of the Class-IV government employees held here on Sunday at the Wadoodia Hall in Saidu Sharif. The meeting was also attended by Deputy Commissioner Atif Rehman, Class-IV union Swat chapter president Said Khitab, District Nazim Muhammad Ali Shah and others.

Speaking on the occasion, the union president stressed that Class-IV employees with higher education should be promoted as junior and senior clerks. The office-bearer lamented that Class-IV employees in the district perform 24-hour duty. He added that some of the watchmen had been deployed as security guards in various departments.

Deputy Commissioner Atif Rehman and District Nazim Muhammad Ali Shah assured the union president of resolving the issues being faced by the Class-IV employees.A three-member committee headed by deputy commissioner was also formed to safeguard the rights of Class-IV employees. Other members of the committee would be the union president and district nazim.
