MUZAFFARABAD: AJK Prime Minister Raja Farooq Haider Khan has said that achieving prosperity of the State would remain PML-N government priority. He was talking to a delegation here on Monday.
The prime minister reiterated his determination of making AJK a developed region where all people could enjoy the fruits of progress equally. Talking about human rights situation in Occupied Kashmir he termed the continued civilian killings in occupied Kashmir as unacceptable. He decried continuous restrictions as suppressible tactics adopted by Indian forces against the Kashmiri people for the past around two-and-half months in occupied Kashmir.
He condemned imposition of restrictions, declared and undeclared curfew for the 74th continuous day, oppressive and suppressive tactics adopted by the armed forces resulting in grave human rights violations and killing of civilians across Kashmir.“When forces fired pellets and critically injured a mentally challenged youth, these tactics will not let the people of Jammu and Kashmir give up their right to self-determination,” he said.
“We condemn mischievous activities of communal forces in Occupied Kashmir, especially during the Eidul Azha and thereafter, as a consequence of which curfew continues to be imposed there. Such forces were deliberately targeting and harassing Muslims in the region. The brave Muslims of the region have never succumbed to the machinations of these elements and continue to protest against the atrocities perpetrated on them. People of Kashmir like the past will always support their fellow Kashmiris for firmly standing against injustice and fighting for their rights,” he further said.
