NAB to file references against Pervaiz Ashraf, Sharjeel Memon
ISLAMABAD: The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) has decided to file references against former prime minister Raja Pervaiz Ashraf and former Sindh minister Sharjeel Inam Memon.
The decision to this effect was taken at a meeting of the executive board in Islamabad on Thursday, which was chaired by the NAB Chairman Qamar Zaman Chaudhry.It was decided in the meeting that a reference will be filed against Pervaiz Ashraf. The former premier was allegedly involved in misappropriations in awarding rental power plants contract to M/s Young Generation (Pvt) Ltd.
It was also announced in the meeting that a reference against Sharjeel Memon would also be filed. There are charges of misuse of power and embezzlement in the national treasury against Sindh’s former provincial minister of information.Investigations against Ghulam Jamali and Farzana Raja were also approved.
