People pledge to plant saplings

Various groups of people have vowed that they would plant saplings on different locations as a contribution towards efforts aiming at increasing tree cover in twin cities.
Waleed Baloch, a resident of F-6 sector, said the government is launching tree plantation campaign so they have decided to play their due role in it.
"First we will try to get saplings from the civic agency or in other case will purchase them from nurseries. We have a plan to plant saplings in fast eroding green belts in F-10 and F-11 sectors," he said.
Iffat Ahsan, a conservationist, said they would plant saplings in parks in Satellite Town area and would also take care of them to ensure their survival in the coming months. She said: "Tree cover in Pakistan has decreased to an alarming level and it is duty of every Pakistani to play his/her due role for increasing number of trees in the country
