KARACHI: The Difah-e-Pakistan Council took out a huge Karavane Kashmir rally here on Sunday August 14 -- the Independence Day -- to express solidarity with Kashmiris. The rally, which started from the Safari Park and ended at the Hasan Square, was led by Maulana Samiul Haq and Hafiz Saeed.

The rally participants raised slogans "Kashmir banay ga Pakistan", "Indians leave Kashmir", "Kashmir Independence is linked with the independence of Pakistan".  Addressing the participants, Maulana Samiul Haq said the rally was taken out on August 14 to express solidarity with the Kashmiris.

The Maulana underlined the need for unity among the religious parties for the independence of Kashmir. The participants of the rally also torched an effigy of Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

The rally participants demanded of the Indian government to stop the atrocities on the Kashmiri people. They also demanded of the government to raise its voice in the UN for the Kashmir issue.
