Three-member committee made to review irregularities at BZU
MULTAN: The Bahauddin Zakariya University on Wednesday constituted a three-member committee to review irregularities at the BZU Directorate of Distance Education.BZU Distance Education Director Prof Dr Asghar Ali has issued a circular for constituting the committee to review irregularities.
The committee is constituted after appearing the matter in newspapers into gross irregularities and conduct of papers of student Anum Saleem, roll number 30, LLB session 2012-15. BZU VC Prof Dr Tahir Amin approved the constitution of the committee. BZU Directorate of Distance Education Director Prof Dr Azra Asghar Ali would be the chairperson and BZU Director Academician Prof Dr Ashraf Khan and BZU Controller Examinations Prof Dr Mutahir Iqbal have been nominated as members. Interestingly, chairperson of the committee was actually responsible for irregularity who allowed the detained student to appear in the next semester without appearing or passing the previous semester as she reportedly got wrong approval from BZU VC Prof Dr Tahir Amin, in violation of University Act, BZU Calendar and the university rules for taking papers of a detained student in 4th semester.
The student was illegally allowed to appear in 5th semester examination without passing 4th semester. The second irregularity was that the papers were taken at the Distance Education Admin Officer Nasrullah’s office instead of examination hall.
When contacted, Admin Officer Nasrullah denied the allegations and said that the student took the papers of 5th semester at his office. The examiner took the papers at the available vacant room instead examination hall, he said.
