PESHAWAR: The National Accountability Bureau (NAB), Khyber Pakhtunkhwa arrested Zahid Mehmood, former superintendent at the Abdul Wali Khan University Mardan (AWKUM) and presently posted as superintendent at the University of Swabi.
The NAB through a statement said Zahid Mehmood, a BPS-17 employee, in connivance with others was involved in corruption and misuse of authority in connection with illegal appointments and regularisation of 652 officials in AWKUM.
The accused performed his duties as superintendent in AWKUM from 2009 to 2012, the communiqué said.
According to the statement, the NAB maintained that the official in connivance with others processed summary for illegal appointments and regularisation of the services of 652 contract employees in different cadres at AWKUM by misquoting and misinterpreting the notifications of provincial government issued back in the year 2005. It added that the accused would be produced before the Accountability Court for obtaining his physical remand.
