A large number of students who have recently passed matriculation are showing more interest in getting admission in the private colleges as compared to those being operated in the public sector, mainly due to their better discipline and future prospects.

"A number of students are trying to get admission in the private colleges despite the fact that their tuition fees have increased considerably and are simply not affordable for the students belonging to lower strata of life," said Nadeem Chaudhry, a lecturer at a local government college.

He said the private colleges often give advertisements in the media in which they highlight the achievements of their students that gives impression that those who would join them would get top positions in the examinations.

It is pertinent to mention here that the number of students especially the male students is increasing day-by-day and getting admission and affording tuition fee are major problems being faced by the students and their parents as well.

There are number of government colleges in the city that are catering to the needs of the students and the education department is continuously taking measures to improve their standard of education.  Asif Mehmood, a student, said he wants to get admission in the private college because the quality of education in the government colleges is still questionable due to various obvious factors.
