Anti-riot force training

To reactivate anti-riot force, the training of 1,100 police officials under the supervision of 40 master trainers will be completed by the end of September 2016.

This was stated in a meeting held under the chairmanship of Inspector General of Police, Punjab, Mushtaq Ahmad Sukhera at Central Police Office, Lahore, on Friday. Senior police officers were also present.

It was also stated that investigation officers would be given the latest forensic science training  to ensure 100 percent provision of justice to the people.

The additional IGP training briefed the IGP that the 40 master trainers had gotten training from Turkish experts. He said that the psychological profiling of the trainees was also being carried out.

Meanwhile, during another meeting with eight-member delegation of forensic experts headed by Forensic Sciences Coordinator Dr Muhammad Zahid Qureshi of Government College University, Lahore, the IGP said that their proposals regarding the forensic training of the police officers would be considered seriously.

He said that the investigation officers must have the forensic training, especially of the protection of crime scene, securing the evidences at crime scene, examination, documentation and scene sketching.

The delegation also offered their expertise in the training process and modules to the IGP.

Mushtaq Sukhera directed the additional IGP training to coordinate with the GCU’s experts to finalise the strategy in this regard.

wheelie: The chief traffic officer said on Friday the campaigns started by the city traffic police against wheelie and speeding were continuing with zeal and dedication.

Up until now,  2,017 people have been booked in different parts of the city for doing wheelie, the CTO said. He said 50,000 pamphlets were distributed among the road users while roadside lectures were being held to create awareness among commuters to improve road safety conditions.
