I am writing to express my concern over the poor condition of the public transport system in many cities of Pakistan. Public vehicles are often overcrowded, poorly maintained and irregular in schedule. Women, students and the elderly are especially affected, as they face discomfort, harassment and long waiting hours. The lack of a reliable, affordable and safe transport system reduces productivity and adds to public frustration.

While some projects like Metrobus and Orange Line are commendable, they only cover limited areas. There is a need for an integrated, modern and nationwide public transport network that serves the majority, not just a few.
