ISLAMABAD: Judicial Magistrate Azhar Nadeem has ordered the acquittal of former National Assembly speaker Asad Qaiser in a case registered at the Police Station I-9 for protest and vandalism.
Asad appeared in court along with his lawyer Ayesha Khalid. After completion of arguments, the court ordered his acquittal, while the hearing of another case registered against him at the Police Station Margalla was adjourned until September 20.
In another case, Anti-Terrorism Court Judge Abul Hasnat Zulqarnain provided copies of Challans to the accused in one of the two cases registered on November 26. The accused will be indicted at the next hearing. On this occasion, an acquittal application was filed in another case filed by the Margalla Police Station. The court adjourned the hearing in both cases until June 30.
In another case, Anti-Terrorism Court Judge Tahir Abbas Supra issued arrest warrants for absent PTI workers in cases registered against them over the November 26 protest. The court issued arrest warrants for the absent accused and adjourned the hearing till July 7.
