Glowing tribute paid to BB
LAHORE: The PPP leaders and workers paid rich tributes to the services of former prime minister Shaheed Benazir Bhutto, who played an important role for the promotion of democratic values in the country.
Addressing her birthday ceremony, the speakers said the country can make progress by adopting the narrative of improving the economic condition of the people. The event was addressed by PPP leaders Tariq Khurshid, Dr Khalid Javed Jan, Dr Zarari Yousuf, Rana Sharafat, Raza Ashfaq, Ammar Shah, and Humaira Latif. The event was organised by the Print Media Working Group.
PPP leaders Chaudhry Sajjad Nazir, Jabbar Nasir, Khalid Bhatti, Comrade Tahir, Bakhtiar Ahmed, Abdul Aziz, Chaudhry Sajjad Nazir, Raja Arshad, Nabeel Naseer, Atif Khokhar, Shan Zainab were also present.
Addressing the event, Dr Khalid said BB introduced simplicity in politics. He said nuclear power was necessary for the country. He lauded the moral support of China in the brief war with India.
Ammar said the PPP will keep BB’s legacy alive. Khalid Bhatti, Jabbar Nasir, Nabeel Naseer, Shan Zainab said BB instilled hope in the poor. The speakers said the country is invincible due to the nuclear and missile technology of BB.
Meanwhile, a birthday event of former prime minister Benazir Bhutto was also organised at the residence of PPP leader Aurangzeb Burki on Saturday. According to a press release, party members Sohail Malik, Anjum Butt, Tanveer Butt, Imran Butt, Abbas Mir, Rana Zia, Chaudhry Ramazan, Mian Akhlaw, Aftab Siddiqui, Tahir Shah, Malik Amjad and others attended the ceremony. The speakers highlighted the courageous role of BB for the poor of the country.
