Directive to upgrade parks, greenbelts

LAHORE : Parks and Horticulture Authority Lahore Director General Mansoor Ahmad has accelerated efforts to revamp the City’s parks and green areas, aiming to transform them into clean, vibrant and eco-friendly spaces.

In this regard, a meeting was convened at PHA headquarters under the chairmanship of DG Mansoor Ahmad.

The meeting was attended by all horticulture directors, project directors and the director sports. Ongoing development projects, park conditions, greenbelts and citywide horticulture areas were thoroughly reviewed.

During the meeting, the DG emphasised improving both field and office performance. He issued directives to ensure the attendance and active involvement of all PHA staff, stating that the presence and dedication of field officials are critical for enhancing service delivery and the overall condition of city parks.

Horticulture directors were instructed to ensure the regular maintenance of all parks and greenbelts across the City to maintain a clean and refreshing environment for the general public.

Project directors were directed to ensure full functionality of jogging tracks, lighting, water pumps and other facilities in the parks.

Specific directives were given to the project director of Jilani park to immediately begin renovation of the public gym, while the sports director was tasked with preparing a formal proposal for the upgradation of the Samanabad sports complex gym.
