LHC seeks response over plea against PIA privatisation
Nazakat Hussain Abbasi and Asif Mahmood appear in court on behalf of petitioner

RAWALPINDI: Judge of Lahore High Court, Rawalpindi bench, Justice Jawad Hassan, has issued notice to parties after the initial hearing of a petition against the privatisation of the Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) and sought a response by June 25.
During the hearing, Nazakat Hussain Abbasi and Asif Mahmood appeared in court on behalf of the petitioner.
The court asked the petitioner’s lawyers what was illegal in PIA’s privatisation process, to which the petitioner’s lawyers took the position that the PIA did not conduct a valuation of national and international assets.
The lawyer requested the court to seek all the records of the valuation of assets. The court issued notice to the parties and sought a response by June 25.
