Where is the law?
The main city of Kashmore District, Kandhkot, is going through a dire law-and-order crisis. The region has been completely dominated by dacoits for years. The frequency of robberies, extortion and murders has increased. Businessmen are being compelled to pay extortion under threat of violence and some people have even been killed just for not handing over a mobile phone or some cash.
Out of terror, many individuals have fled the city, including religious minority families and well-known doctors. Shops close early and the city basically shuts down by 8pm. Kandhkot’s famous grain market is now in decline. The people of Kandhkot are tired and scared. They want peace, but no one is listening. Where is the government? Where is the law? How long will this continue? The Sindh government must wake up and take strong action before this city is completely ruined.
