CM receives no audit report on Ramazan Package: Azma
LAHORE:Punjab Information Minister Azma Bokhari has responded to certain media reports regarding the Ramazan Nigehbaan Package and said that no audit report concerning the Ramazan Package has been received by the chief minister to date.
Azma said that if such report exists or surfaces in future, it will be investigated thoroughly and transparently. She further stated that soon after the current government took office, the relief items under the Ramazan Nigehbaan Package were distributed to beneficiaries based on pre-existing data. Every effort was made to ensure that the entire process was transparent and aligned with the public interest. Reiterating the stance of Chief Minister, Azma emphasised that the misuse of public tax money will not be tolerated under any circumstances. If any form of corruption or mismanagement is found within the Ramazan package, those responsible will face the strict legal action, she said. The minister also shared that an initial inquiry committee is currently being constituted to closely examine all aspects of the matter.
